If you are more shapely then others. If you get told by others you're not fat you are just solid. If your body resembles more of a circle then the desired oblong shape. If you wish you were skinny enough for someone to point out your muffin top. Then you know the frustration of trying to find apparel that actually fits.

I can't believe it is so hard to find plus size clothing. In all of the so called normal clothing stores they stock nothing that fits and you know for years I actually understood this. After all why should they make or stock plus size apparel it just doesn't make sound econimical sense. Most people don't need them and obviously they sell more of the normal sized clothing to make huge profits so why bother with the plus size market?

But I have a question?

In recent statistics just released it was stated that something like more then 60% of men are overweight or obese and just short of 50% of women are of the plus size variety as well. We are constantly being bombarded on the news and various other media outlets about the obesity epidimic.

Okay - so obesity is not good and it leads to health problems but if about half of the people in the Western world are overweight then how come clothing stores are not providing plus size apparel? Surely the economics are there. On these statistics half of us need bigger clothes.

So how come our clothing stores don't stock at least 50% more plus size apparel? Or is it they don't want plus size men and women to wear clothes? Surely that can't be the case wouldn't skinnier people be more pleasing to the eye in that situation. So why is it so hard to find clothes that fit?

Do we who tip the scales on the heavier side cost the clothing manufactures too much money? Is the material so expensive they can't afford to make bigger clothes?

It is hard to fathom that in an increasingly fatter world we still have to travel to specialty plus size apparel stores to get decent clothes. And what seems to surprise shop assistants is that we need bigger everything! Yes we need plus size shoes, socks, underwear, lingerie, etc.

Yes - it's just not a bellies and bottoms that get bigger, such things as our feet actually grow as well. So some entrepreneural people out there please open a plus size store that actually stocks apparel and footwear that actually fits a plus size person.

I have found some excellent plus size stores, especially online however there has been some that have no idea what big clothing is. Honestly clothes that at best would be lucky to fit a skinny model after eating Mac Donalds is not plus size clothing.

Us plus size shoppers have money to spend and we need clothing just like everyone else. It would be nice for out everyday clothing stores could provide better apparel instead of relying on specialty plus size stores.

Whatever your shape happens to be, there is clothing that can hide your least favorite features and highlight your best features. This knowledge can be particularly helpful to plus size women, who often resort to wearing clothes that cover up their entire body with tons of fabric.

Women with an hour glass body type have an overall curvy shape with a defined waist. The shoulders, bust and hips are the same width. They have a medium to large bust, and fleshy, average size upper arms. The hour glass body type is also characterized by full, round buttocks and slender lower legs. What you have to remember, is that the thinner and younger you are, the more you can get away with, the older and larger you become, the harder it is to look as great as easily - but it's well away from impossible.

1. Fit is all important - if clothes fit you well they look more expensive. 5. Colour - the right colours draw attention away from your perceived flaws - find out your colour direction with a colour analysis, and draw attention to your face and features and away from your body parts that you dislike. The right colours will make you glow and look fabulous, and nobody will be looking at your body because they won't be able to help staring into your bright eyes.

6. Accessorise - great jewellery - necklaces and earrings in particular - will draw attention away from your body and up to your face - use them to distract and highlight.

7. Great Shoes - often comfort becomes the all important feature of shoes, but consider how different shoes can make an outfilt look - are yours helping you look stylish or dowdy?

8. Proportion is key - the mistake many manufacturers of clothing for the larger lady make is that along with being a bit wider, you've also grown 7 foot tall, and suddenly all tops are very long - this can actually make you look shorter and wider as you loose leg length, and leg length makes you look taller and slimmer.

When shopping online for plus size clothing, it is often difficult to decide what size is right for you. Here are some tips on how to measure yourself to ensure proper fit. All you will need is a standard measuring tape.

To begin, measure your bust with your bra on and your clothes off. Keep the tape straight across your back, and measure around the fullest part of the bust and under the arms. The measuring tape shouldn't be too loose or too tight.

When measuring your waist, make sure you are in a relaxed position. Wrap the tape around the narrowest part of yur natural waist. Again, it should be snug but still comfortably loose.

Next, measure your hips, inseam and sleeve. Stand with your legs and feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips. Then measure the inseam from the crotch to your ankle bone. Measure the sleeve by bending the elbow, and stretch the tape from the center of the back of the neck to the elbow and down to the wrist.

There are two measurements to find bra size: band and cup size. To determine the band size, wrap the tape measure under your arms, high across your back and around the top of your chest. Subtract the band measurement from the cup measuremnt. Each inch in the difference is a cup size. For example, if the difference is 1, your cup size is "A". If the difference is 2, your cup size is "B", and so forth.

Finally, make sure you check the size charts for each website you order from because they can be different from each other. Remember that if you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.
